Shamisa Christia, BA, MA, Prosci Certified – Change Practitioner

Shamisa Christia has several years of experience with business development initiatives. Ms. Christia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Spelman College, a Master of Arts degree in Sports Management from the University of San Francisco, and a Professional Certificate in Technical Communications from Illinois Institute of Technology.  Ms. Christia started her career as a Marketing and Research Coordinator and Proposal Specialist. She worked closely with Account Managers, Project Managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop successful proposals to include; Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications, Request for Information, and Request for Bids. Shamisa created a style guide manual to ensure consistency and standardization with the development of proposals. She also developed informative articles, email blast campaigns, and other marketing material to boost the marketing efforts of the companies. In addition, Ms. Christia has experience conducting research using an in-depth qualitative approach to substantiate key market trends.  Based on her research findings, she was able to persuade the executive management team of a company to take a strategic approach to reach perspective clients. 

As Shamisa’s career progressed, she served as an Integration Specialist (Communications and Training Development), Program Coordinator, and Organizational Change Management (OCM) Training Coordinator.  In these roles, she supported and/or lead the organizational change management efforts for digital transformation initiatives. Ms. Christia employed her technical writing and technical editing skills to enhance communications, presentations, training materials, and other documents, integrated her analytical and organizational skills to develop plans, learning solutions, and evaluations, and infused her design skills to develop training courses and videos.  Furthermore, Shamisa continues to use her consultative skills to work collaboratively with organizations to help them, achieve, highlight, and celebrate their transformation goals.

Ms. Christia received continuing education/certification in the following areas: Change Management from Prosci, Grant Writing (Certificate of Completion of Grant Writing from the Salt Lake City Community College and the Utah Art Council), and Technical Communications (Graduate Certificate program at Illinois Institute of Technology).  Additionally, Shamisa has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.  Ms. Christia’s educational background and unique work experience has equipped her with indispensable skills to provide exceptional consultative services in the areas of technical writing, training development, and organizational change management.  Her passion for assisting businesses in their growth and development inspired her to start Strategic One Consulting, LLC; a consulting company that provides strategic solutions for organizational development initiatives.
